Design 3 - Converting A Ring To Pendant

Take an existing 'head' of a ruby dress ring and convert it into a pendant.

The process:

This was a fairly straight forward job from a goldsmith's perspective, and something that is often achieved with minimal cost and work.

Firstly the three ruby clusters are cut away from the shank of the original ring. There is then a bit of tidying up beneath the setting before attaching the pendant loop.

A clean and polish brought the stones back to life with a quick dip in the rhodium plate to bring out the lustre of the white gold.

We think this was an inspired design on the behalf of the customer: taking a ring that was otherwise unworn and turning it into a piece of jewellery that would be - very creative!
