Recruitment Privacy Policy

This privacy statement sets out how F.Hinds Ltd (the data controller) uses and protects any information that you provide to us when you use the fhinds.co.uk or Recruitive website or otherwise provide F.Hinds with your personal information.

F.Hinds is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Any personal information you give to us will only be used in accordance of this privacy policy. The subject of privacy and use of personal information is an ever evolving subject and we may change this policy from time to time by updating this notice. We advise that you check this regularly to ensure our privacy statement meets your individual requirements.

By providing us with your personal information, you agree and consent to its transfer, processing, use and disclosure as outlined in this privacy statement.

What we collect

When you apply for employment with our company we collect personally identifiable information (PII) that you provide to us. We will ask you to input PII such as your name, email, address, telephone number and details of your previous academic and professional experience. In the first instance, this information is collected by ‘Recruitive’ who are an online recruitment solutions company, who then forward to us candidates who meet the requirements of the position being advertised.

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information to process your employment application for the following reasons:

• To objectively assess your suitability for the position being advertised
• Based on this, to select candidates for interview and possible progression in filling the vacancy
• To ensure that you meet the legal and statutory requirements to work within the United Kingdom

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We understand that ‘Recruitive’ also have in place stringent security measures to protect your data although individual enquiries regarding their safeguards should be directed to them.

Sharing PII with third parties

F.Hinds does not believe in selling or renting PII to third parties. Your data will only be transferred between ‘Recruitive’, F.Hinds staff involved in the recruitment or personnel functions and the store manager who is advertising the vacancy in order for them to select candidates for interview.

Protecting your PII

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet or a mobile phone network connection is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your PII, we cannot guarantee the security of the PII you transmit to our websites: any transmission is at your own risk. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration to data will not occur, once we have received your information, we will employ appropriate technical security measures to prevent such unfortunate occurrences.

How we use Cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. Use of IP addresses

An IP address is a set of numbers that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you log on to your Internet service provider or through your organisation's local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN). Web servers automatically identify your computer by the IP address assigned to it during your session online.

F.Hinds, or third party companies acting on our behalf, may collect IP addresses for the purposes of systems administration and to audit the use of our website. We retain the right use IP addresses to identify users of our website when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with the website’s terms of use or to protect our service, websites or other users. We may also restrict or block users based upon an IP address.

Controlling your personal information

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information:

• F.Hinds does not use the information you have supplied in applying for employment with our company for any other reason other than processing your employment application
• Information supplied to us from Recruitive may be kept on our systems for up to twelve months and during this period, will only be used to inform you of any suitable vacancies that may arise, that you may be interested in
• If you have agreed to us processing your personal information you may change your mind at any time by writing to us at F.Hinds Ltd, 24 Park Road Uxbridge or emailing us at customerservices@fhinds.co.uk

You have a right to ask what PII F.Hinds has on record for you and if you wish for your data to be deleted. If you request your data it will be provided to you in a digital format and must be sent to you within 30 days of receiving your request. Similarly if a subsequent removal request is made it must also be completed within 30 days.
