WEEE Regulations

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (2006 No. 3289) (WEEE) have been put in place to ensure that products are recycled using the best available treatment, recovery and recycling techniques to ensure human health and high environmental protection.

WEEE can contain hazardous substances and when left in landfill sites, the hazardous substances in WEEE can pollute soil and contaminate water supplies. This contamination can damage human health and the environment. When you have finished with a WEEE product, please do not put in your domestic waste bin as it will not be recycled.

If you purchase an item covered by the WEEE Regulations from us, we offer to take back the old item on a like-for-like basis. Typically this will be for sales of watches and certain clocks. Like-for-like means a watch in place of a watch, an alarm clock for an alarm clock etc. We then take on the responsibility for recycling your old item.

For items purchased online, you can return your old goods for disposal via any one of our stores. Where this is not practical please contact us for specific instructions regarding the product you have to return.

Goods marked with the 'crossed out wheelie bin' symbol are classified as a WEEE product; all new electrical equipment should be marked with this symbol.
