Bespoke Gold Thistle Brooch
Posted on: 02/11/2017
The brief:To manufacture a bespoke gold brooch set with amethysts, to match with customer's own sketches.
The process:A fantastic bespoke design which saw a customer's vision turn into reality. Our customer came into store with their own sketches of a gold thistle brooch and asked if it could be commissioned in gold. After agreeing the metal, size and general proportions of the brooch, it was decided to include a couple of stunning purple amethysts which we think really elevates the design.
Due to it being an intricate and sentimental piece, we also recommended a gold safety chain and pin which would act as a back-up should the brooch's pin and catch mechanism fail. The sketches were sent off to our goldsmiths for it to be handmade, amethysts were sourced and set into the thistles and finally it was sent off for hallmarking.
We can manufacture almost anything from scratch so if you have a bespoke design in mind, please head into an F.Hinds branch or email us at email@example.com with your ideas.
