The first place F.Hinds expanded to outside of London was Reading, with the original Reading shop opening in 1900. This shop was transferred to Frank Hinds (from whom the 'F' of F.Hinds took its name) brother William in an amicable division of the company in 1924. The current F.Hinds shop in Reading opened in the Broad Street Mall (previously known as the Butts Centre) in 1971.
