Jewellery Trend Predictions to Look Out For in 2023

Posted on: 30/01/2023

Pearl Embellishments

Everyone knows and loves the age-old gem of the sea, but in recent years, pearls may as well have stayed in the ocean depths. That's until certain celebrities sparked a revival. With the likes of the Princess of Wales being a pearl advocate, it’s no wonder they’re set to become a big jewellery trend for 2023.

Whether you opt for jewellery with authentic pearls or something that takes its influence from the real thing, a pearlescent addition to your outfit makes a statement. At London Fashion Week in September, Nensi Dojaka draped their models in pearl-based designs, suggesting that the trend could catch on in fashion and jewellery in a big way once Spring/Summer 2023 rolls around.

Hoop Earrings

Hoop earrings are said to date back to ancient Sumerian and ancient Egyptian civilisation – that's around 2500 B.C.! They have long been popular in black and Latina cultures, however these days, the iconic hoop earring is worn by people from many different cultures. Having been a popular mainstream accessory for several years now, it comes as no great surprise that they're marked down as a staple jewellery item for 2023.

From tiny to downright huge, hoop earrings offer excellent versatility that can transform your look. You can play around with chunky or slim designs and even go for an embellished option with beads or extra dangles.

Cuff Bracelets

Until recently, cuff bangle bracelets had fallen off the radar after their stint in the noughties. Cuffs are a bracelet that doesn't fully close around the wrist. After runway appearances last year, there are predictions that chunky bangle cuff bracelets will be back on the scene in 2023 as a key jewellery trend. The chunkier the better!

You can choose one with a hammered or engraved surface, but if you want a pop of colour, go for a gemstone-detailed surface. Want to give the trend a little 'Y2K' spin? Give arm cuffs a go – they have the potential to become the perfect summer accessory. We might also see cuffs made up of multiple rows, creating gaps that break up the chunky, block styles. It's certainly a 2023 jewellery trend prediction that enables you to get experimental with your look!

Sterling Silver Jewellery

A timeless jewellery staple, sterling silver is set to have its moment in the limelight once again. You might have stashed away your silver pieces amid the chunky, gold jewellery era, but 2023 is the time to dig them out again now that this jewellery trend prediction has resurfaced.

Coordinating sterling silver earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces can tie a look together, giving it a cool-toned flourish. Silver has the potential to elevate your outfit in a different way. It also opens up the possibility of mixing your metals, which might not be for everyone, but it will certainly make for interesting jewellery looks in the coming year!

Long, Dangling Earrings

Nothing feels more sophisticated than earrings that sway to and fro as you walk into a room. And the good news is that long, dangling earrings are set for a revival in 2023, according to jewellery trend predictions.

The perfect choice for a special occasion, dangling earrings add a touch of finesse and offer the opportunity to try different hair styles to show them off. Go all out with a pair of dangling earrings embellished with diamonds or rock a playful set that features coloured gemstones.
